Abstract
The purpose of this study was to attempt to establish the normal value of the motor nerve conduction velocities of the median, ulnar, tibial, and peroneal nerves in normal Korean adults.
In this study, twenty five males and forty females between 20 and 59 years of age. Men with a history of any injury of an extremity, peripheral neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease, heredofamilial disease of the neuromuscular system, diabetes, hypertension, heavy alcoholics, and tuberculosis were excluded in this study.
The room temperature of the laboratory was maintained -between 20 and 25 degrees centigrade. Hewlett-Packard Electromyography machine, Model 1510 A, was used for the measurements of motor conduction velocity, distal latency, and amplitude of evoked action potentials Bilateral median, ulnar, tibial, and peroneal nerves were chosen. These studies were carried out by the same examiner.
